HUD 232 Lean Frequently Asked Questions

The Department of Housing and Urban Development has recently modified their underwriting and processing of HUD 232 financing of senior housing and long-term care properties. In a historic move, the agency has moved from the Multifamily Accelerated Processing (MAP) and has embraced the Lean management process of Toyota Corporation. The goal of the new "HUD 232 Lean" program is to simplify the application process and substantially reduce the time it takes qualified borrowers to obtain funding.

I engaged Bedford Lending to develop a finance strategy for a new expansion. They funded a direct loan that paid off our bank loan and was used to build a 20 unit assisted living wing. The loan was written for 40 years and was non- recourse. Their experience and programs are remarkable. We look forward to working with them on the next project."
